FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
PARK CITY
Official Digital Coaching Software of the National Development System (NDS) of
the United States Ski and Snowboarding Association (USSA).
NDS is a project-based athlete training system designed to find and develop the
top ski racing talent in the country. Coaches will utilize V1 for skills
analysis of NDS athletes nationwide. V1 plays a vital role in quickly delivering innovative
new concepts to coaches via streaming video.
Coaching with V1 can be done onsite and/or online. V1 captures video on a PC
and performs a variety of video analysis functions, such as side by side comparisons,
overlaying one skier on top of another, angle measurements, drawing tools, multiple
exposures, and time lapse images.
For an example of one of the ways the NDS is using V1 go to
http://www.v1sports.com/Academy/USSA/default.asp
Here you will see video clips from major competitions and training camps. You can view these clips or download them
into V1 Home to compare some of the top World Cup slalom racers side by side.
The NDS Video Page is the only online source for video from USSA ski racing
competitions and camps.
One skier can be overlaid on top of the other to see who skis that section of
the course the fastest, or one racer can be put in front of the other to see how
they ski each gate. If you have video of your skiing, you can compare yourself against
top skiers, or just start off using your friends for comparison.
NDS director Walt Evans says, "We are excited to be working with V1; it is
a powerful program that is so easy to use and affordable that every coach in the
country will be able to use this state of the art technology." There are
two versions of V1 for skiers; V1 Home is $39.95, and V1 Professional is discounted
to $595 for USSA coaches.
Jeep NASTAR uses V1 to provide online coaching to NASTAR participants from
coaches like AJ Kitt. For more information visit

Ski racing is a natural application of V1 technology, but freeskiers, ski jumpers,
freestyle skiers, and snowboarders are all discovering new aspects of their
performance and taking it to a higher level by using V1.
