Whenever I attempt to use any IGA features on my computer, which is connected to the Internet via AOL Broadband service, I receive errors indicating that my computer is not online even though I am able to browse the internet using the AOL browser.
Although you are able to access the internet using the AOL software which is preconfigured to work with your broadband modem, Internet Explorer has not yet been configured for access through that connection on your PC.
This means that any programs or services that rely on Internet Explorer to access the internet (such as V1) cannot make this connection because it does not appear to be available.
To configure Internet Explorer for internet access, use the steps below. Please note that these are only the basic steps and may not reflect your current version of the AOL software. If you are unsure about configuring your computer on your own, you must contact AOL technical support for assistance, we cannot offer detailed assistance for this problem.
Start AOL and confirm that you are online by opening a webpage using the AOL web browser.
In the AOL program, click the Keyword button and enter 'Home Network Setup'
Wait for any onscreen dialog to complete, then exit AOL completely.
Restart AOL and find the Connection Location box on the sign in screen. Use this to select 'Home Network', then sign on as usual.
Verify that you are able to access the internet using Microsoft Internet Explorer by minimizing (NOT exiting) the AOL application and opening the IE browser using the blue 'e' icon on your desktop or in your quick-launch bar.
In IE's address bar, enter your favorite webpage, or just visit http://www.v1golf.com Once you have confirmed that you are able to access webpages using Internet Explorer, you should have no problems using any of V1's IGA features.
Please note that these are only the basic steps required to configure your PC to work with AOL Broadband service. These steps may not be applicable to your system depending on who the actual cable/DSL provider is, or the version of AOL that you are using. For detailed assistance, please contact AOL technical support and indicate that you need assistance configuring Internet Explorer with your AOL Broadband service on your PC.
